Pulled Pork Egg Rolls

Preparation & Cooking Time: Prep Time: 30 Grill time: 20
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg of egg roll wrappers
  • 1 lb. of prepared Pulled Pork
  • ¼ cup of your favourite Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 small dish full of water
  • 4 tbsp. sesame oil, for brushing

  • Method

    Step 1

Use your favourite method to slightly warm the Pulled Pork with the extra sauce before preheating your grill to 400°F, prepare for indirect cooking method. I prefer to use the Cast Iron Skillet on the grill, but you can just as easily microwave the pork in a glass bowl.

    Step 2

While your grill is preheating, sauté the onions and peppers with the 1 tbsp. of butter.

    Step 3

When the pork and the onions and peppers are ready start filling your wrappers. Lay down some cheese on the diagonal, followed by a helping of meat and then peppers and onions, maybe even more cheese if you want. Wet your fingers in the little dish of water and use them to wet the edges of the egg roll wrapper. Fold the corners closest to the edge of the food up, then fold the bottom over those. Roll the egg roll until you have a nice little envelope.

    Step 4

Once wrapped, place the egg rolls onto a baking sheet. Using a basting or pastry brush, brush both sides of the egg roll with your sesame oil.

    Step 5

Bake them for 10 minutes over indirect heat, flip them and continue baking for another 10 minutes.

    Step 6

When they’re golden and crispy, you can serve these tasty treats with veggies and dip, or a salad. Be sure to have extra barbecue sauce for dipping.
